About eltrabs

A little get to know the owner...

My name is Megan, I have been sewing since I was 17 and have always been interested in anything creative. I did an apprenticeship in sewing, manufacturing high end outdoor wear and haven't stopped sewing since!

After taking up a few jobs for family, friends and work colleagues I decided why not open Eltrabs up to the public for anything and everything sewing related. If you need trousers or curtains shortening, a main zip or pocket zip replacing, a rip fixing up, a simple split seam, a new popper adding, a buckle replacement on a backpack, a suit tailoring, a perfectly fitting prom/bridesmaids dress, anything's possible!

After many failed attempts, the design of the logo is inspired by my grandma Alice! She was the homemade queen from knitting, card making and doll house building. As a child I remember her always putting a jumping rabbit over a moon on the back of cards saying Eltrabs (our family last name backwards). So this is a little nod to one of the people who inspired me to be creative!

All that being said, one of the big reasons why all of this matters is because the world is telling us every day that it can't stand any more landfill! Over 300,000 tones of clothes go into landfill each year just in the UK. We can help reduce this one piece of clothing at a time by getting things fixed up and prolonging the longevity of them for as long as we can!  Even if you want something repairing for sentimental reasons that still helps you and the planet!

Last but not least, thank you to everyone who has supported me so far and here's to the future!
